Junior Academy

Sherwood Park Skating Club’s Junior Academy is designed for first-time figure skaters who will learn the fundamentals of figure skating, including stroking, spins, jumps, and other techniques.

Instruction is offered in a small group setting with a low student-to-coach ratio. Skaters will have fun moving through a variety of small groups learning these skills through dynamic and engaging lessons taught by nationally certified coaches.

Skaters will move at their own pace and will complete their first year gaining confidence on the ice, the ability to work and focus independently on their skating skills, and a solid grasp on the fundamentals.

Sherwood Park Skating Club, as a Skate Canada-recognized club, uses the STAR Skate program curriculum to progress young athletes through lessons and standardized assessments. Included with your registration is both on-ice instruction, as well as off-ice conditioning that includes Jump classes and Ballet.
